    In 2000, Plantey's friends and families paid $1,000 to buy him a mono-ski so he could race more. Later, Plantey moved to the United States for some time to train seriously.
    Enrique Plantey went to the 2018 World Cup in Saint Moritz, Switzerland. At that race, he finished tenth in the giant slalom, 14th in the first slalom race and 18th in the second slalom race.
    The car accident that left Enrique Plantey a paraplegic also killed his father and brother.
    After first trying para-alpine skiing in 1999, his friends and family raised a thousand dollars to buy him a monoski. For Enrique, it was love at first sight when he tried para-alpine skiing.
